An extra treat

Lest any brilliant rhetoric of mine go unpublished, this comment I left at another site, where it was roundly ignored, as usual.
Like the classical Marxism whence it arises, contemporary Progressivism is wholly opponent-driven, feeding on a continually growing coalition of “oppressed” minorities. It has no internal brake, no limits. The more victorious and hegemonic it becomes, the louder it must cry out against its enemies and find more victims.
In my professional life, the Monday after the Supremes invented a right to genderless marriage, I was treated to whining and bitterness by people whose side had just won. They were outraged that the decision had been split
With them, there is no discussion, no compromise. Every new issue is just one more nail in your coffin. It’s win-lose all the way down. Which is why mere conservatism –which theoretically holds itself to things like tradition or evidence– simply cannot beat them. And hasn’t. “Decent” righties are like the 18th century British infantry trying to fight the Viet Cong.

Perhaps the only way to deal with them is to just brush them aside and move on with society building. If they get physical and start to poke, push back.
