Jerking and twerkin
Hannah Montana's fall from innocence has provoked VDH:
Miley Cyrus and Ugly Sex
"In terms of repugnance, Miley Cyrus was the anorexic and mobile version of Jabba the Hutt."
"...a grotesque postmodern Grendel’s mother."
"...we live in a psychodramatic age of virtual oppression and feigned want, in which “Letter from Birmingham Jail” is updated with Oprah’s melodramatic account of being denied a closer look at a $38,000 Swiss handbag... Soup kitchens and five-cent apples have transmogrified into electronic EBT cards and Obamaphones...
If multimillionaire rapper Jay-Z performs at the White House, where is to be found the font of resistance?"
[Resistance to what, VDH? Black culture's corrosive effect on America?]
This kind of performance is a staple of pop culture in the age of hiphop. "Twerking", like most of current pop music, is a gift from Africa and its descendants. Black girls of all ages, and their Wiggerette imitators, carry on like this all the time. VDH's outrage cannot be understood apart from the fact that Ms Cyrus is a young White girl.

I think VDH would still be disgusted if it was a black woman who had done it. Silly VDH, acting like black people don't have a politically-granted right to act however they want! ;)
The greatest source of his fury seems to be a visceral reaction to the conflicting images of the innocent (and underage) Hannah Montana and the loathsome Miley Cyrus. Which I confess, fuels my disgust as well. It was about the unsexiest thing I have ever seen. The complaints about Robin Thicke being old enough to be her father doesn't bother me as much; your carpenter I was asking about is twice my age! What bothers me is the fact that he's married and was flirting with adultery ON LIVE TV. That shows some astounding lack of respect for your wife, and some major lack of decency. Basically, all of my problems with mainstream gay culture boiled down into one repulsive display.
P.S. I started giggling uncontrollably when VDH called her "a rare female orc." Suddenly had a vision of Viggo Mortensen cutting her head off with a sword in a Lord of the Rings movie. Apt and clever!
