It'd be amusing to wage the culture war in the opposite direction. Commission a black sign painter to advertise for a local KKK rally. Hire a gay shirt printer to make Putin 2016 tees. That sort of thing.

Sorry, but the government forcing you to do things that violate your conscience is "the price of citizenship."

God damn it. Literally. What makes my blood boil is that she can't even refer the couple to another photographer- they wanted her, they get her. It's her turn to offer the daily sacrifice at the alter of Equality, and by Justice, she's gonna do it and say the words and sing the hymns and smile, too.

Albus Dumbledore has something to say about that: "If you're holding out for universal popularity, I'm afraid you will be in this cabin for a very long time." Are LGBTs doing this because, deep down, they still have nagging doubts about the validity of their lifestyle? Do they secretly fear that they are indeed wrong, and they want to make everybody say that they are right to assuage their consciences? If we can say that there is the zealotry of new faith at play here, who's to say that there is no also the guilt of old faith at play here as well?

If that is "the price of citizenship," my friend, then we have been overcharged. The photographer did not refuse to photograph the couple because they were homosexual, but refused to photograph the couple in the commission of an act that her religion said is wrong, a position that she complies with as part of her religious observance. The Constitution assured that the Congress shall make no law establishing a state religion or restricting the free exercise of religion.

So, if you don't want to follow a religion, fine. If you want to follow a religion, you have the right to practice or ignore the doctrines and precepts of any religion you so choose. That means not having somebody make you follow or break the rules of your religion. You know, like England did with non-Anglicans for centuries? The Crown thought they were just as morally validated in their policy of persecution as the Left now thinks themselves justified in the pursuit of "equality at any price." And just like the Crown, the Left will one day be condemned as being just as tyrannous as the Crown. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.

In a Liberal regime, the State IS the Church, the source and arbiter of all morality. Religion is reduced to mere private idiosyncrasy.
