Wow. I've never seen anything like that. They say Nature is a bitch, and that it's a mother. It's both and neither. It's the masterwork of an artist far more clever and ingenious than we could ever hope to be, with cycles and patterns often too slow or broad or subtle for us to notice until we get fancy.
So if I have a choice between saying, "Somebody set it up this way" and "That's just how things worked out", I'll take the former. If the latter were true, I think the wonder of the world would whither and die.
