Dynamism and SelfDestruction

Whether you use the image of Athens and Jerusalem, Aristotle and Plato, Enlightenment and Romanticism, etc. it's pretty clear that that White West (a tautology) is defined (largely thought not exhaustively) by its dialectic of mystical universalism and scientific rationalism. Is that dynamic or is that destructive?

Looking for a sacred stream that does not simply choose the one side over the other is quite the challenge.

You need both in balance. It's when people actively try to promote mysticism or rationalism to the detriment of the other that things get weird.

the hypostatic union- incarnation- Jesus Christ

"Balance" sounds like a kind of compromise, but actually it's a form of perfection, and about as attainable as any other form of perfection.

As for the hypostatic union, etc. I have lately started to conclude that Christian orthodoxy has become both incomprehensible and practically un-imaginable for many in the White West.
And I see no signs of that trend reversing.
