Tempus fugit

and does all sorts of other things, too.

A recent shot of famous neurology MD and writer Oliver Sacks, author of the fascinating The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat, looking every bit the aging Jewish doctor.

The same fella in 1961...

Dr Sacks, I discover, has much preferred the male to the female. Who knew?

Pretty nice, huh? But hardly the only son of Israel to turn the head.

Sacks is a specimen. Curiously, the tongue poking out of his mouth has a faintly feminine air to it, but it enhances, rather than diminishes, his masculinity. A complementary counterpoint, if you will. It reminds me of a young Marlon Brando, whose sexual proclivities (both ways) are no secret.

Indeed, Doctor, Israel continues to produce fine, strapping sons. One has to wonder if the prohibition against man-sex was to keep the men from enjoying each other too much! :)
