Interest in creating a program in Male Studies may have been spurred by weariness with feminism’s misandric myths. But its subject matter, one hopes, will unfold organically along rigorous scholarly lines. Perhaps it will venture into the three “Ps” of normative masculinity: man as progenitor, protector and provider — and what happens to cultures that assign a low value to these roles.I guess I was on target when I named three similar elements to the archetypal masculine.

Me? Like being right?
While working on some thoughts about the role of therapy for men, I came across this section of a piece about the new Foundation for Male Studies in NY, a project designed to counter the androphobia both in the culture and in academia.
