PS, I would add that the mainstream media --capitalist enterprises all-- are not known for their caring and inclusive cultures. I believe that cutthroat is a more apt modifier.

I think the word you are looking for is "scapegoat," Ex. Isn't' that what the Left is doing, symbolically transferring their own guilt from themselves to another (i.e., everybody who is not Liberal) or a nebulous group they themselves fit into (White People, Christians) and targeting those individuals/groups for punishment for the Liberals' own sins?
