Bloody TrueBlood

TrueBlood is getting sillier and sillier. And sillier. Sukie is a one-note irritation. Tara and Lafayette should be drowned. Repeatedly. The plot is incoherent. Though it was pretty clever to have Sam Merlotte's shape-shifter brother wind up in the dog fights. And although the gay Vampire King of Mississippi is coupled up with yet another stereotype, the moody pretty Latin boy-queen, he himself is refreshingly energetic and power-driven.

The South has achieved a very strange position in modern America's media imagination. These are the regions which tried to leave the Union, leave America, stop being American. Civil War followed, Reconstruction followed. And in the fabled 60's the South was the focal point of the Great American Passion Play starring MLK. Nowadays, the (white) South embodies for liberals the awful truth of what is Most American: stupidity, bigotry, inbreeding, rank racism, superstitious religion, violence, isolation, etc. The White Southerner epitomizes everything that liberals hate about their own country and redneck-bashing is not a forbidden form of ethnic slur, but a sacred duty.

If I were a shallow fella, (congiuntivo) I might watch this train wreck partly because of a few visuals...

I like the werewolves. Alcide, for instance.

Yes, the werewolves are where the eye candy is at... Much is made over Eric and Bill (for some reason), but Alcide is one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen.
