Not too fine a point
From the manosphere, where young men dominate, this uber-blunt assessment of our troubles, in this case with wymyn. But it's true across the board for all the other victim groups who now rule the West:
As the Russian playboy said, "What could they ever ever take from us that we didn't actually let them?"
*Unless, in this particular case, she's married to him. In which case she can take him to the cleaners in divorce court. As a cynic has said to men, Why bother getting married? Just find a woman who hates you and buy her a house.
--
The ultimate enablers of feminism (and liberalism) are not women, but other men. Were it not for the men who supported Christian “social purity” movements like Prohibition in the early 20th century, women would have never gotten the vote. Were it not for horny Boomers who wanted to do it in the road, Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan would have been laughed off as cranky harridans. Were it not for limp-wristed GenX manboys like Kurt Cobain, the Violence Against Women Act would have died in committee.
Behind every Strong, Independent Woman™ is a man making her existence—and delusions—possible. And when that man decides he’s had enough, she’s finished.*

American Sniper
Mr B and I took in this flick yesterday aft. Quite good.
If original director Steven Spielberg had not resigned from the project and Clint Eastwood not taken over, it might have been one more Hollywood film where the US military men are either victims or criminals.
The trailer sets up some of the tensions. The two sides have quite different norms about what constitutes acceptable behavior. I am led to wonder if most men raised in the West these days are capable of being warriors.
Bradley Cooper reveals himself to be a good actor. He normally plays more lightweight types, but was convincing as a tough Navy Seal from Texas. Chris Kyle, on whose life this movie is based, was neither a victim nor a criminal. He was a soldier.

Horse('s ass) of a different color
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch is "devastated" for offending People Of Color by referring to them as Colored People.
Pathetic and sickening.
And this is a culture which rolls its eyes at times when there was a crucial iota of a difference at stake between homoousios and homoiousios.
Either you're the master or the slave, it seems.

Time wasters
Ann Coulter, while dumping on Trump as a possible presidential candidate, reminds us that the American electorate has never chosen a president who lacked previous government experience, elected or appointed to office, or serious military leadership.
Same goes for Great RightWing Black Hope Du Jour Dr. Ben Carson.
She asks the good question as to why, given the probabilities, feckless Republicans would waste time on men whose chances of being elected are so small?
Because they are feckless, I guess.
Feckless, by the way, comes from a Scottish take on the English effect-less.

My daily vent
Since ExC is the place where I dump my anger so that I can be charming and civilized in my relations with actual people, here's another installment:
I came across a piece of legislation passed in 2014 by the US Congress, both Houses, by unanimous voice vote. One more piece of Nanny State law sinking its tentacles into my life. My reaction was visceral.
I would watch with satisfaction if the whole lot of them, every one without exception, were dragged out into the street and hung from lamp posts.
There. Now, off to coffee with a friend --an irredeemable liberal, but a nice guy--and then to the gym.

Contraculturalism
The ground of multiculturalism, that all cultures are equal --except Western culture, which is irredeemably bad-- is beside the point. Arguing about it is a pointless circularity.
The question is not a comparison of goodness or worth, but of compatibility.
And clearly all cultures are not compatible, especially not in close proximity. The incompatibility results in destruction and death.
Who in their right mind would try to make a single "nation" out of Pakistanis and Japanese, out of Han Chinese and AustroAborigines, out of Zulus and Icelanders?
That is why it is outrageous and immoral that there are Somalis in Minnesota and Muslims in France.
And why it is a fatal waste of time to continue to make-believe that the descendants of the European peoples and the African peoples will some day arrive at equality and compatibility within the same political territories.
PS. Since we are still within the Octave of the Solemnity of St Martin Luther King, Savior of America, it's worth noting the assessment of another Evil White Male that aforesaid Saint is not an American hero, much less a White one, but is the national father of another race and people, alien and hostile. Which is ExC's current position.

(The) Article
Ms Coulter chides Ms Maddow on her use of the article "the."
MSNBC's Maddow now rewriting instant replays | Human Events:
What a difference an article makes. The vs nothing.
Blacks vs The Blacks.
Referring to Blacks --which in our hypercorrect times is now kinda edgy-- is borderline tolerable, but to refer to "the Blacks" is a racist crime. Like Ross Perot's "you people."
When we --the Whites-- say "the Blacks", this is a heinous Othering of our African-American fellow-citizens and brothers and sisters. Well, we are not their brothers and sisters. They only refer to one another as brutha or sista. Not us. Hmmm.
Anyway, using Blacks without the article implies that this group is included in Us and we are working out some family problems.
Yeah, right.
Using "the Blacks" implies that they are somehow outsiders, not us, Others, even aliens. A group with interests and agendas not only competitive but hostile and aggressive toward us. (So?) Next step? Well, objectification, gasp!, dehumanization, death camps. Blah blah blah. Like all the ones George Bush had set up for the gays.
Truth is, "the Blacks" do not see "Whites", or as the code-switching Obamacenity in the White House likes to say, "White folks" as anything other than Other. Had you not noticed? But we are not allowed to return the favor.
Except here at ExC, where Othering continues apace.
Whether the Blacks like it or not.

Blasphemy
Every society has its sacred cows, or prophets, or groups. To insult them, or even to show them insufficient deference, through speech, is blasphemy. Violation of the sacred by action is called sacrilege.
Islam is the most prominent and obvious contemporary example. You insult their prophet and you get mowed down. This is a clear and continuous teaching from old Mohammed himself. Islam functions on an honor/shame system. Insults are capital crimes. The old, and now discarded, 'sticks and stones' philosophy of the West has no place there.
But just because a society declares itself non-religious (like our current enlightened West) or anti-religious (like the Marxist hellholes) does not mean it dispenses with punishment for blasphemy and sacrilege. Every society recognizes the sacred. Some, like ours now, avoid the religious terminology but act just like pious true believers in every place and time.
Our most sacred cows are feminist-approved women (in which case the phrase sacred cow is often literally true); very lately, the feminist-subsidiary of the LGBTs, especially, in the last ten minutes, the T's and, of course, the Archetypal Sacred Victims: the Blacks and othercolored persons persons of color...except Asians who are successful.
Fail to defer to them (by microagression or refusal to support any of their projects du jour) or uttering blasphemous phrases in describing them will bring you the punishment due to unbelievers.
In traditional Judaism, YHWH, the proper Name of God could not be pronounced saved by the High Priest and by him only on one day of the year, in the Temple. They substituted the word Adonai, or Lord, whenever YHWH occured in the text. It was "The Y-word.'
For us, the truth of what we are supposed to hold sacred is similarly contained in the words we are not allowed to speak, but may only refer to, in hushed and shamed tones: above all, "the N-word."* And in reference to females, "the C-word."
Blasphemy or sacrilege in regard to the Liberal sacred does not typically bring death, as such crime does in the robust and testosteronian religion of Islam. But it does bring public shaming, excommunication and shunning. It requires public penance and humiliation. It can also mean economic or professional death. Ask Paula Deen about that.
So while we are rightly revolted by the Charlie Hebdo murders, we should not think of ourselves as entirely Other to the Mohammadan savages. Were Charlie Hebdo changed into a publication that insulted Ns and Cs, or otherwise had truck with "racism" and "sexism" or, God forbid, "transphobia", we would cluck our tongues piously and wish down on them the (generally) bloodless wrath of our open-minded and liberal culture. The more fervent among us might even doxx them and let Social Justice take its course.
*Unless you're Black, of course. Then you can say "Nigger" all day till the sacred cows come home.
Which simply reinforces my point.

My DarkSide still lives
No surprise. At least not to me.
Reading Chateau Heartiste, the uber-blunt and dazzlingly well-written straight guy site "where pretty lies perish," I read this remark by a Russian playboy millionaire in his indulgent regard to all the gold-digging women in his life:
And that, o ye legions of XCathedra readers, is the sad and awful truth of Western civilization in its suicidal decline.
When it comes to every accusing and complaining Sacred Victim Group who started out with "We only want to be treated fairly" and ended up, after a long list ofsurrenders and appeasements open-minded and tolerant changes to law and culture, with "Your H8ful bigoted ass is grass, evil oppressor!", this has been the shocking and insane reality:

How would you calibrate, say, Black and White groups using this model?
My own estimate, to any readers of this little blog, has changed quite radically over the last years --if you compared me in 1994 to me in 2014, it's 180 degrees-- and should now be obvious.
I no longer look at Black-White issues as problems within a single nation, problems that can eventually be resolved, but as problems between two separate nations (at least), which are insoluble.

MMXV
In the old days, this used to be the feast of Christ's circumcision, on the octave day of his birth.
One of the things I still retain somewhat, and miss in its more robust form, is the shape that the Church gave to time, to the year. Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent and Easter, Pentecost, and all the ranks of saints, and fasts, and sacred moments that moved in complex parallel. Dense with the ebb and flow of ancient images and stories, grown up over centuries, with the Old and New covenants intersecting in layers of text and type. By contrast, the post-Christian calendar of the New Religion is thin, rational and commercial when it is not merely parasitic or dishonest.
I have visited the chapel in Rome where Christ's foreskin was once venerated, il Santo Prepucio, in ages when, despite their reputation, people were more comfortable with the body and its ways than our weirdly Puritan and promiscuous times. When the mad Dominican mystic Catherine of Siena was espoused to Jesus in the 14th century, he gave her his foreskin as a wedding ring.
Religious. Not spiritual.
