Nyah nyah

"LGBT" people are extremely sensitive to such cosmic crimes as stereotyping. When it comes to themselves.

But if you watch LGBT media or read LGBT writing, you will see that it is perfectly ok, even bold and transgressive and edgy...ooooh.... to treat Christian religion and Christians with a snide, cartoonish attitude and often grossly inaccurate portrayals. But LGBTs are victims of intolerance and bigotry...so that relieves them of any obligation to treat fairly people who differ from them.

But what about the stereotyping of muslims at "ex cathedra" -- how they're responsible for a vastly disproportionate amount of bombing and other terrorism, how their 'moderates' aren't leading a groundswell of popular Muslim sentiment and thought vs terrorist versions of Islam, how Muslim leaders often blame problems in Islamic countries and families on pre-Islamic tribalism and don't go the next step and declare that all tribalist 'honour' mentalities are a shame to true Islam? Shouldn't you first speak out against stereotypes that political Islam is somehow vs Western liberalism in a way that Hinduism and Buddhism aren't?

Nicely put.

I sort of lose sympathy for the screeching over "stereotyping" when the Community spends a great deal of its time... perpetuating and validating those stereotypes.
