The children's grandparents are alive and desirous of caring for them (but were told they were too old at 59 &46) so both both mother and grandparents agreed to placement with a Muslim couple, of which several were available and willing. The family was told to agree to the Christian couple's adoption or they would never see the children again.
Gives new awful meaning to the Nanny State.

Here we often keep children in awful situations because of family reunification. But this is absurd. There are loving living relatives who by all rights should be caring for these children.
I hate it when children are used as pawns in social engineering schemes.
If this couple (the gays) were serious about becoming parents, then the welfare of the children comes first. They wouldn't take these two who clearly have a loving family. Or they would respect the grandparents wishes - and find other children who don't have any family.
But like every one else in our narcissistic society, they want pretty white children as trophys - not as a real responsibility in their lives.
