He's Black. And he was born in Panama (Juan), so he's also Latino.
So nobody's safe.
The NPR CEO who fired him defended herself: Speaking at the Atlanta Press Club Thursday, Schiller defended the firing, saying Williams should keep his feelings about Muslims between him and "his psychiatrist or his publicist."

Hasn't the record been that blacks, Latinos, women, etc who step out of line are the most excoriated? White males, on the other hand, have the freedom to be evil or to be good. I remember noticing in graduate school that I had the freedom to take "conservatism" seriously -- taking conservatism seriously wouldn't help my career prospects, but I was allow'd to remain on the scene while deviating from proper opinions and attitudes. White women could do this only with great circumspection, and minorities not at all.
You make a good point. Whites, men especially, and straight ones, are considered predestined to eternal loss in Bigotland. The sacred victims of race and gender who step out of line are guilty of ingratitude and treason.
