…and starting with journalists, I think: as witness the knee-jerk response across the media to regard the greatest threat after the Paris atrocities was not the outrage itself, nor the possibility (probability?) of further atrocities in France and beyond, not the pathological and impenetrable evil of the perpetrators but…the risk of right-wing reaction! Very much the same disease of mind exhibited by the General George Casey, whose response to the jihad slaughters at Fort Hood was to say that it would be worse if this "tragedy" were to lessen our commitment to "diversity."
