Kulcha

Skipped through a few episodes of Hustling, a gay+ web series about a former hustler trying to start a new career as a private chef in NYC. A sad soap opera, though the commentors seem to feel it is Shakespearean.  An empty world. Ah, well. I guess I'm of a different age now and culture. The lead guy is, objectively, a major hunk. He does for me, alas, nothing. As appealing as a new car.

Skipping through a few episodes of Looking, about Three Gay Boys And Their Lives In Contemporary SF. The draw is almost entirely Russell Tovey. Ah, Russell Tovey. Although having Scott Bakula in a steambath scene with Murray Bartlett has its appeal.

In both cases, the evil god Eros does his usual chaos. Hustling is pretty soulless. Looking is more stumblingly human. NYC vs SF?

Neither of these stories have much of any relation to my life at all anymore, old me. (Though some of the tumult I remember...and not that long ago.) The natural passage of time. And my typical way of "moving on." Although the magical draw between men is something I have never moved on from. Nothing else in the world like it.

With all its un-gayness, as it were, I like my moved-on world, with un-gay Mr B in it, a lot more.

A lot more.

Your Monday Morning Decline

I wound up watching about 30 seconds of a hiphop/rap video by a Caucasoid rapper named Riff Raff.

Any culture which creates this stuff and then celebrates it and makes it into a hugely profitable industry deserves to die.

Really. It's beyond shameful.

Archetypal quirkiness

Leather, a strange 2013 gay flick made of fragments of interest and weirdnesses. It's not about the gay leather subculture. Available on YouTube.

Some spoiler info below; if you plan to watch it, you may not want to continue reading.

After learning of the death of his estranged father, urban grad student Andrew arrives at their old mountain cabin with his incredibly infantile queen of a boyfriend* and unexpectedly reconnects with childhood buddy Birch, who'd become dad's surrogate son in the decade-long interim. Drama ensues.
*As I often say, right-wing "homophobes" cannot come up with more repulsive stereotypes than gay-originated media. This pathetic excuse for a male is a tantrum-throwing infant who cares only about fashion and his pet rabbit, Mary Anne. Really. No kidding.
It's a combo family/boyhood-friend drama. It has antique hippie back-to-nature romanticism, plus contemporary LGBT dysfunction (and contemptible and wholly gratuitous knee-jerk politics). For all its oddness, bumps and wrong turns, the worthwhile center of the story portrays, IMHO, the redemption of a lost gay male through re-connection with the boyhood friend whom his redeemed father redeemed. He moves from a retarding "gay" relationship to a maturing erotic relationship outside the standard identity labels.

The two men are opposites in a variety of ways, which makes for conflict/attraction, of course. The dark furry earth man and the gingerblond smooth intellectual man. A classic pairing of chthonic and ouranic

Both of them look very fine in their own way. Andrew Glaszek especially...who's also a decent actor with a boyish but very masculine energy. And they're even better together.

Enforcing the New Religion

English Manif: 300 Articles You Have to Read to Understand What Is Meant by the Term "Homofascism":

Hugely larger lists in regard to race and sex could easily be assembled.

The Seven Truths of the Liberal Faith --multiculturalism, feminism/LGBTQism, redistributionism, pacifism, secularism, environmentalism, transnationalism--brook no opposition and must be established By Any Means Necessary.

In a charming re-cap of old continental Catholic attitudes, "error has no rights."

Ferguson

Bill Whittle: Ferguson and the Real Race War | Truth Revolt:

"...black racism is the toxic glue that holds the progressive coalition together. Tolerance of – in fact, as we see from the events in Ferguson, open encouragement of black rage at a narrative that not only does not exist but reverses the daily outrages that do exist, is what defines modern progressivism. It is the politics of envy, anger, entitlement, lawlessness, violence and bald-faced lies. "

Artful decline

A "quirky" film of 2012, Petunia.

A cast of talented actors vividly portraying a group of pathetically unlikeable denizens of modern nihildom.

Sort of a follow-up to 1998's The Opposite of Sex with a hint of Tales of The City.

A festival of societal collapse.

But, ever the Glass Half Full kinda guy that Ex Cathedra is, in the midst of all the hyperdysfunctionality --is that even a word?-- there was the mug of Jimmy Heck.

I am the Decline I am waiting for.

Girl talk

The keynote address at the LCWR is a long and bloviated song of narcissistic praise to absolute identification with Western liberalism and the agenda of the eco-feminist Democrat Left as the culmination of history and divinity. The suicidal disappearance of women's religious orders is, in classical Burnham style, celebrated as their greatest achievement.

The word "Christ" is only mentioned once outside of quoting Vatican documents. The word "Catholic" never appears.

Despite "bravely" quoting feminist icon Alice Walker that "we are not girls", that's exactly what they are.

The person in the mirror

WhiteLiberals are fundamentally in love with the idea of their special moral goodness.

What makes their moral goodness special is two-fold.

First, it is self-sacrificially un-selfish. That is, Liberals are in favor of things that will benefit people they do not know, and who often loathe them. Liberals willingly give up their own benefits for the sake of these hostile strangers. (But if you push harder, you'll find that many WhiteLiberals believe that their race's 'crimes' deserve whatever losses they suffer...)

A Christian martyr could hardly do better. And in fact is less morally good than a Liberal, since the saint hopes for a divine reward while the Liberal merely feels it his/her duty to Do The Right Thing, without counting reward or loss. Liberalism is in many ways a secularized and toxic morphing of Christianity.

Second, its specialness is highlighed by opposition to the vile bigotry, H8, greed, superstition and stupidity of the Liberals' loathesome Other, The Conservative RightWinger. As John Derbyshire points out, the great moral Civil War of the last half century has really been between two groups of White people who loathe the sight of each other. If it's true that all politics is ultimately local, then intrinsic to the WhiteLiberals' moral universe is the stark opposition between them and their nemesis, the WhiteConservative.

Only Whites can really be Liberals in this sense, because when Peeps de Couleur take on Liberal positions, they are direct beneficiaries, as ethnics. There is no unselfishness involved. And they have no real Evil Twins to differentiate themselves from. Except maybe Condoleeza Rice.

Only Whites can really be Liberals because they are The Most Foolish People On The Planet. (c)

Random horrors

Reading the comments on Facebook posts about Israel and Gaza.

They speak for themselves as random horrors.

Came across a YouTube genre, the choreographed surprise wedding dance. Caucasians acting Ebonic, minstrel shows in whiteface. People without dignity. Horror.

Wonder

Discovery series on How The Universe Works. Great computer graphics and a fascinatingly complex narrative of how the Earth was formed.

PC is taken for granted.

Season Two has a Dellums as a narrator. He gives the game away with his Maya Angelou-esque Afrohyper articulation. Mike Rowe does a better and less distracting job.

Star H8

Largely for the pleasure of watching the interaction between Connor Trinneer and Scott Bakula,

I watch some reruns of Star Trek Enterprise. But the smug high-minded "ethics" makes me turn it off every other episode.

It could only be written by Foolish White People. Or Unitarians. Who are, as a group, Foolish White People Incarnate.

The human crews are always multi-racial and no differences between them, aside from appearance, are portrayed or mentioned. All the Blacks or Asians are just Whites in different shades. To assert real racial differences would be rank "racism", of course. But the whole series depends entirely on serious differences between/among humanoid species, which are both portrayed and mentioned in detail and taken to be defining. Klingons are warlike, Ferengi are acquisitive, etc. What would be evil stereotyping and ethnocentrism when applied within the Earthling species races' becomes, when projected outward, the matrix and narrative energy for the whole Star Trek, uh,  enterprise...

I really H8 moralists. I really do. I H8 them.

Modern grey

A serial killer movie with a "crazy Christian" theme, starring Susan Sarandon as a burned out, pill and booze drinking tiny town police chief. Feminism's results.

A bad cliche in every way. The expected mystical BS passed off as hidden fact --revealed by a decrepit Donald Southerland--and the typical disrespect.

For example, a funeral is held at "St George Catholic Church." Nothing outside or inside the building says anything other than Protestant.

The writer is a Mr Abramovitch. Big surprise.

Ms Sarandon in this flick reminds me of one of my sisters on a bad day. Including a tediously negative relationship with her mother.

But the cold grey feel of southern Ontario/Quebec in winter is authentic.

Right about this

This sacrosanct act is one of the occasions of huge messes down the line (along with the 1965 Immigration Act). IMHO, it was the Federal State's assertion of itself as The American Church, replacing real churches as the actual moral teacher and arbiter of citizens' ethical lives.

Graphic Quotes: Ron Paul on the Civil Rights Act of 1964 | Independent Film, News and Media:

In the Post-American Commonwealth where ExC is Consul, all anti-discrimination laws are abolished and forbidden.

Eevil John Derbyshire includes this bit of late-found wisdom about this kind of legislation in his taking-August-off column:

Thus what, in the innocence of youth, I took to be rational moves to remedy injustices—like the Factory Acts or Catholic Emancipation in a previous era of reform—turned out to have been opening shots in a Cold Civil War: two big groups of white people who can’t stand the sight of each other striving for social mastery.
One of those groups is bringing in foreign auxiliaries to do some of the fighting for them—just as the Romans of the later empire hired in Germans, or the later Arab Caliphates hired in Turks. How’d that work out?
Here's the rest.
